A. The Role-Play Administrators will moderate the war and be tasked with updating the “Current War Status” threads. They will also dictate all problems and diversions in the war, though it will be done in a reasonable fashion in a reasonable time frame. Problems such as diseases, raids and other obstacles will be presented to factions throughout the war without notice and at any times. Some of these events may cause chain reactions to happen. For example, food rations may be cut, leading to soldiers rebelling against their superiors.
B. All Species will be able to participate in the war and should make a great effort to always be included in one way or another. Independent Species are just as important as the major Species and it is recommended that they try to get a bigger role in the war in an effort to where they could possible affect the outcome.
C. Battles might not always be planned in the war. They may happen spontaneously and this is encouraged as this is a free-form Role-Play site. This also allows the Role-Play to stay fresh and original. For example, in a war that pits the Silver against the Perfect Race, three Gallant are in a thread by themselves and two Silver come by and they begin to fight. In an effort to reduce the amount of problems during this small, minor conflict, one member of the fight will contact a Role-Play Administrator so the battle can be moderated effectively.
D. There is a large process that Species Leaders must go through when it comes to launching a major battle. Species Leaders are not required to request battles, but in an effort to limit the headaches for the members of the staff and the members of the community, the process for arranging a battle is as such: first, the Species Leader will contact the Hall of leaders and say who they are planning to attack, where they are planning to attack and a brief description of how they are going to attack. The moderator cannot refuse this initial part. What the battle moderator will need to actually approve is the number of forces on both sides of the battle, the type of forces on both sides of the battle and the battle plan itself. Once the number of forces for both sides of the battle are approved and posted publicly by the battle moderator, they cannot be changed. As said, battle moderators cannot say ‘no’ to a battle taking place. They will, however, approve how the battle will take place. This is due to the fact that if a battle moderator was to say that a battle could not take place, not only would they be slowing things down in the Role-Play but they would also be throwing a wrench into the plans of the Species.
E. Though this is completely common sense, you must have an opponent to role-play the defenses.
F. A Current War Status thread will be available for viewing by all members and will be updated by the staff battle moderators. This thread states what battles have been fought, where battles have been fought and links to the battles. It will also say which Species are allied, which Species oppose each other, etc. The staff battle moderators will always keep an eye on who is attacking who and how to ensure that attacking factions do not have an unrealistic number of forces.
G. The purpose of the war is to create interest in the Role-Play, so it is requested that you do not take it too seriously. No member or faction can be the ultimate winner and everyone is expected to follow the Rules and Guidelines of the Role-Play, as well as the general rules of black.betaboard.net.
