Nocte Creatura
Most people believe, when faced with the words ‘Creature of the night’ it means things like Vampyre or Werewolf. There are many more creatures that hide within the safety and comfort of the night, villainous creatures, vile and unbelievably cruel. But alas, your mind hath not yet been opened to that of the night people, Nocte Creatura are beings of the night that have evolved and integrated themselves within society. We are beings that dapple with people of the light but feed off the dark. There are different types of Nocte Creatura, and we call them ‘forms’;
Our forms are vast yet they are strict in their metamorphosis, forms stick to forms they do not interbreed. When the forms were first created, it was when those lesser beings, those vile creatures, got curious and went near the light, it changed them, made them better, stronger, smarter.
Those forms are;
The Vampyre: Although stereotypical, they are nothing like anyone believes; it’s because of light that they exist so it is not a fatality to their skin. They are strong and fast, but feed off the lesser being’s blood, not human or alike. They are pale and have fangs which can retract at will. They tend to stay closer to the darkness than other Nocte Creatura.
The Djinn: A creature, much like a morbid version of a genie. In human stories, this form fed on humans lifeforce but that is a myth, like that of all other forms, it uses lesser beings to feed on, for they were lesser beings themselves at a point. They have tattoos on their arms and face.
The Lesser Demon: Creature’s that were made by vampires to serve them. Human stories tell of them hunting and protecting their master during the day but that is only what happened at the start. They are tall with dark skin but are brilliant at camouflage. Their defining appeal is their dark pupils that dilate when they are hungry. They feed on the souls of lesser beings.
The Werewolf: Also unlike that of stereotypes, the only thing that is real is that a lot of them don’t have a fondness to Vampyre. They can change at will and aren’t vulnerable to silver. Their eye colour is a factor that defines them as it always has a yellowish tone. But another is their sharper teeth than a human. They are very fast, can anger quickly and most human weapons cannot harm them fatally.
These creatures do not live to harm humans but if they are hunted then they will hunt back, they stick to their own form, travel as one, but it is still not uncommon to see other forms mixing together, they just can’t create mixed breeds as it is forbidden. No cross breed will live as the mixed blood will kill them.
