A Fateful Encounter

The sun was just rising in the horizon, casting it's morning rays on the town. Though many were awake, there were those who now were going to bed. The night watchmen, and the night care takers, those whose duty it was to protect the Air Kin lands while their fellows rested. It is this time of day when the forest is coming awake, when the sunlight is just peeking through it's leaves, casting shadows and lighting trees and animals that walk past.

Lana had been able to escape her High Priests this morning so that she might take a walk in the peaceful forest. Her hair gently flowed behind her with each step, and her dress seemed to shimmer each time the sunlight touched it. It was a rare sight to see the Grand Priestess alone, and and even rarer sight to see her out of the Temple. Her footsteps barely made any sound as she moved leisurely throughout the forests, stepping over sticks and branches, and watching the animals as they played, even stopping sometimes to pet an animal. They did not fear her, and so they did not run from her. This moment was one of those, as she had stopped to stroke the neck of a doe with her two fawns.

Miuki watched from a distance, unaware that Lana was the grand preistess

Lana smiled at the deer, yet another rare sight, as she was not known to smile often. When she stepped away from the deer at looked back at the fawns and then they slowly walked away to find a place to graze. She walked a little further, still quiet as can be.

Miuki raised an eyebrow at the deer odd he thought usally the deer keep to themselves.

Lana stops for a moment, looking up at a bird in a tree then she turns and looks directly at her watcher.It is not nice to spy on people. She spoke to him, her voice resembling that of a warm breeze on a calm spring day.

"I wasn't spying." Miuki studied her, she was familiar somehow, "besides its not often you see someone dressed like you come round these parts."

She listens as he speaks. It also is not often that I get to come around these parts. She replies quietly.

Miuki could tell somethign was special about her, but he didn't know what. Who are you?

Ralin was sitting on a rock, the sun shining down upon him. He has his eyes closed as he meditated, his book laying open in his lap. He focused his energy to the center of his chest, as his kept his mind on reviewing the medical knowledge he held in is hind. He had trouble concentrating because he heard the talking and Ralin got up to investigate.

She looked the man over quietly, her golden eyes calm and curious. I could ask the same of you. She replied softly

Miuki stared at her, not knowing if he should yell at her or respond "The names Miuki."

"Well, Miuki, I am Ruslana Whitewood." She simply told him her name, though the trees and creatures around her seemed to react to her name in a strange way, growing calmer for a moment until the echo of her name was gone.

Miuki gasped, no wonder something was familiar about her. "Youre the Grand Priestesss!" Miuki was a bit shocked you find her alone.

Lana nodded, amused by his shock. She turned her gaze up to the trees, the golded chains dingling from her crown tinkling as she moved and a soft wind lifted her hair gently, causing her dress to sway around her, the red rope tied around her waist swaying slightly as well.

Miuki decides to ask the question anyone would "why are you out here alone."

Lana offers Miuki a gentle smile, something she did only rarely. "I simply wished to leave the Temple for a short time. Shordan said today would be the best day to do so." she said, the wind settling down as she speaks the name of the Goddess of Peace.

"I have a bad feeling about today, something has upset the balance, otherwise I'd be loking for some criminals right about now." Miuki's voice was gentle yet seemed to be different from his normal one, "and now what ever it is is getting stronger."

Lana looks around. She too felt the disturbance. There was something coming closer that had foul intentions. She wondered who it was. As was her nature to not fear anything while she was in her own lands, she began to look for what was causing this disturbance.

Miuki followed, Koai at the ready, an arrow nocked. "If it was to come to close quarters fighting, could you defend yourself."

Lana nods at the question. She could most definitely defend herself. She may be coveted and coped up within the Temple, but she did know how to fight, should the situation call for it.

"Good, im good long range, not close quaters." Miuki said

There is a shift in the air and then a bright light. When the light fades there is a large, majestic phoenix where Ruslana had been standing. The phoenix turned it gaze on Miuki and then spread it's mighty wings and lighted into the air. The disturbance was near, but not on the mountain. She was flying down the mountain towards Ton River. The disturbance was human in nature, most likely unhappy rogues looking for revenge.

Miuki could tell where se was going and turned his gaze skyward as he changed and followed as a bear.

Ralin had found his source of broken concentration as he hid behind a tree listening to the exchange. A disturbance, he mumbled as this development. I guess I will take a look he said as he followed them at a leisurely pace.
